LET'S TALK SUPERVISION
MY APPROACH TO SUPERVISION
My approach to supervision is collaborative, honest, and rooted in curiosity. I'm interested in understanding how you think, not just what decisions you make. When we discuss a case, I'll ask questions, explore your reasoning, and help you consider perspectives or possibilities you may not have thought about.
I believe supervision should be a place where you can acknowledge uncertainty, ask difficult questions, and talk openly about mistakes without feeling judged. That doesn't mean avoiding accountability or uncomfortable conversations. Those are important parts of learning, too.
My goal isn't to turn you into a version of me as a therapist. It's to help you develop your own clinical judgment, recognize your strengths and limitations, and become more confident in the decisions you make for your clients.
My clinical experience spans residential treatment, schools, shelters, hospital settings, and outpatient care. I've worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating trauma, complex relationships, and a wide range of challenges. Working across these settings has given me an appreciation for how clinical decisions are shaped by a client's circumstances, available resources, and the systems surrounding them.
As Director of Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare at a children's advocacy center, I led clinical programming, supervised clinicians, and supported the integration of experiential and trauma-informed approaches into treatment. That role strengthened my experience in clinical consultation, program development, and helping therapists navigate complex situations.
I also bring specialized training as a Certified Clinical Adventure Therapist, along with experience developing and presenting professional trainings on trauma-informed care, experiential interventions, and group facilitation. I value connecting clinical knowledge with practical application, especially when the work doesn't fit neatly into a textbook.
I'm looking to work with associates who are curious, motivated to learn, and willing to take an active role in their professional development. You don't need to have all the answers, but you should be willing to ask questions, think critically, and consider perspectives that challenge your own.
I value organization, accountability, and a commitment to ethical practice. That means coming prepared, staying on top of your clinical responsibilities, and being open about the areas where you need additional guidance.
Most importantly, I want to work with associates who are receptive to feedback, willing to have uncomfortable conversations, and interested in becoming thoughtful, competent clinicians rather than trying to be perfect ones.

Supervision is an opportunity to strengthen your clinical skills while developing a clearer understanding of yourself as a therapist. Our conversations will be guided by your cases, questions, professional goals, and areas where you want to grow.

Frequently asked questions
Supervision is primarily conducted online. If you're in the San Antonio area, I'm open to discussing in-person meetings depending on individual circumstances and availability.
Start by emailing me with your name, a little about yourself and where you are in your professional journey, and any initial questions you have. From there, we'll schedule a 30-minute virtual introductory call.
We'll discuss your clinical experience, professional goals, expectations for supervision, and any questions you have. This is an opportunity for both of us to get to know each other and determine whether we're a good fit before moving forward.
Come prepared with questions, clinical cases you'd like to discuss, and anything you're finding challenging in your work. I encourage you to reflect on your clinical decisions, including why you're choosing certain interventions. You don't need to have all the answers, but I do expect curiosity, preparation, and a willingness to learn.
Concerns don't always come up during our scheduled meetings. We'll establish clear expectations for communication between sessions, including how to reach me for consultation and what to do when a situation requires more immediate attention.
No, you don't need to have a clinical placement secured before reaching out. You're welcome to contact me while exploring employment opportunities. We can discuss where you are in the licensure process and what you'll need to have in place before beginning supervised clinical work.
